Bio: Andrew Jara has worked on many short films that belonged to him and other students. Andrew’s first short film, ‘The Sun Jar’, was chosen as an Official Selection at the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival in November of 2010. With ‘Last Days’, he hopes to show a horror film that goes beyond cheap thrills; a film that is both intelligent and entertaining, able to be enjoyed on multiple levels. Bio: My name is Dan, but most of my friends call me Mateus (mah-t(ay)-us) for short because, well, there are too many people with the name Daniel. I am currently at this time of writing/typing a second semester sophomore. I am a Film Media Major at the University of Rhode Island. I plan on being a movie director, or at least trying. I’m located at Stoughton, MA and Providence, RI. I’m in the Sigma Chi Fraternity. I did the 48 Hour Film Festival in Providence. I did not have the fortunate chance of meeting Wes Anderson while he was filming his movie Moonrise Kingdom. Other than filming, I also like to do photography, write haikus, and snowboard. Bio: Evan Mills grew up in Midland, MI. He currently lives in Chicago, IL finishing up his final year at Columbia College Chicago as a film major with a concentration in directing. Evan is about to take on his first feature length musical film entitled “It’s a Terrible Week for Singing”. The film is being shot this summer. He is an up and coming director who started and runs the production company “A Terrible Week Productions” located in the heart of Chicago. Bio: Hi, my name is Jean and I am a student at Duke University. It was only last year that I jumped in the business of making documentary films and fell in love with it. My first documentary film, The Social Group, is about a group of teenagers with high functioning autism and their friendship. It has won some awards at Duke (Best Documentary in Student Film Screening, 3rd place in at Duke Arts Festival), but hasn’t been screened much elsewhere. For now, I am mostly interested in capturing and telling real human experiences, but am finding the task more challenging the more I try to delve in deeper (currently working on a feature film on the same group). Bio: Joseph Johnston made his first movie at the age of 11, an industrial espionage thriller that continues to play to excited crowds in his mother’s living room every Christmas. In 1996 he was nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Award from the Kennedy Center for The Performing Arts/American College Theatre Festival. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree with Departmental Honors in Theatre from Alma College in 1997.
